SMILE

Photographed by Katie | Katie Meehan

Hi all, hope you're enjoying the sunshine, it defiantly feels like summer! Sharing a very basic outfit with you today. It seems that i can't help but drift towards a pair of jeans (exhibit a) and a blazer (exhibit b). Throw in a pair of trainers, a classic breton tee with a twist and you have the perfect outfit for a casual Sunday that consists of eating too many yorkshire puddings and roasties.

As the slog on the t-shirt says, i have a few things SMILE about this week.

ONE:  the holiday countdown in on...I'm going to Tenerife with the girls in July fora week. I cannot wait to get some sun and spend my days lounging around the pool reading a book and sipping cocktail or five. Be prepared for lots of summer spamming on Instagram and I've already planned the content I want to share with you all.

TWO: I've spend the whole week searching the internet for a new holiday wardrobe and i think I've hit the jack pot with my purchases. Lots of dresses, flowing skirts, some outrageous earrings and a sequin kimono thrown in for a pool party. However the hunt for swimwear is still on! I have looked everywhere and i just can't find anything, any recommendation on a postcard would be greatly appreciated.

THREE: In a bid to be more consistent with my blog, I've decided that I'm going to be posting once a week... hopefully i can stick to it. If any of you lovely reader have any suggestions of what you would like to see/read on my little space of the Internet them please let me know in the comments and i will see what i can do.

Finding My Personal Style

Photographed by Sarah | Up In Lights

A few weeks ago i was looking through some very old photographs of me through the years, and i couldn't believe just how much I've changed. I have always loved fashion and it was very apparent that my style has come along way. At the grand old age of 27 I'm finally happy with who i want to be and how i want to dress.

Growing up I was always a little out there with my outfit choices, there was never really any inspiration for "plus size" so i just did my own thing. YES high waited yellow denim shorts and a cropped t shirt was acceptable for a "fat kid' to wear and like the rest of the girls my age the pink kappa jacket and platform trainers were a wardrobe must have.

Today its completly different, there are soooo many amazing plus size brands and influences that have inspired me over the past year and a half. I have started to dress for my shape and what looks good on my body while still wearing prints and bright colours. I never feel afraid to go shopping and when buying clothes, i always ask myself four questions; do i like it? does it look good on? will it go with the items i have in wardrobe? will i really get my wear out of it?

Over the past year i have built up a wardrobe full of staple pieces including blazers, dresses, trousers, skirt and jumpsuits that i love to wear over and over again. I have even become a fan of shopping my own wardrobe. There maybe items such as dress that i have bought purely for summer, so by adding polo neck underneath or a carding and tights you have a totally new look that you can wear during the colder months.

Because of my height, I'm 5"11 by the way! i have accepted the fact I'm never going to be one of those girls who wears heels everyday. On the odd occasion when i do wear heels i look like a giant, especially next to my friend but more importantly i like to feel comfortable in what I'm wearing, so for me its all about fabulous flats.
